what up incog and anonymous ... i hear you on that, and and i wanna put it out NOW, lol ... youre sorry for the long comment? check this ... as of this moment, that beat is reserved for the 3rd y society lp or "Y3" as damu refers to it. damu's been stocking amazing beats for that one. he says he wants it to be one of the greatest collections of beats ever assembled on a single lp, and so far, it just might be ... anyway, as many of you know, before travel at your own pace was released, sight and damu recorded an album called "ears hears spears" (tres turned it down) and it will be released soon (insight secured a home for the project, and the deal is almost complete. i'll let you know whats up when things are confirmed).
back to that beat, its called "10 miles beyond" and will be on "Y3." its prob one of my favorite beats ever. i actually did a video to that beat and it was featured in a dc art gallery (i forget the gallery name) exhibit on collages / mixed media ... you know the deal, we have A LOT of stuff in the works, but gotta stick to the plan. the beat and the vid will be available when Y3 comes to light. also worth mentioning; damu has a dayjob (as do i) that takes up so much of his time, which limits his music production time and his time on the blog. still, this year you WILL see a new ep, a 7inch single, a new revision or two, possibly "Y1" and maybe even some more stuff.

when i heard that shit my heart felt like it was about to explode. the possibility that i'd never hear the joint in full was devastating to me.
great to hear that, JNOTA. massive relief hahaha props to you and damu... he's definitely one of the best doing it atm. i kinda wonder what the great producers (pete rock, premo, jay dee, etc.) would think if they heard some of his stuff
all I gotta say is that watching that video gave me the inspiration to work on some music myself. Keep it up Damu and J!
I am still waiting to hear the full version of the "Mariana, Mariana" beat that Damu is playing at the beginning of the Washington Park video. It was that video that put me onto the best album my ears have ever heard.
