As promised, here's anunreleased Damu track available for FREE download.
It's called October 2004, because that's when it was made. That means Damu was 20 when he made this one. Whats crazy is that even though he has thousands of beats, he pretty much remembers when he made each one, or whatever else was going on in his life at the time, or where he found the records he sampled.
Download it and let us know what you think. If you decide to share it with anyone, please use THIS LINK instead of hosting it elsewhere.
Thanks to ReverbNation and our sponsor Microsoft for inviting us into their program and making this possible.
j here w/ a quick update. we've been quiet on this site, but we've been working on a new EP for release through our redefinition records label, which we plan on releasing on VINYL and mp3 late this summer. also, we're finalizing a deal with a UK based indie label to drop a double a-side 7inch single (tentatively sched for november), complete with full color cover art by joe buck. speaking of joe buck, you can expect a new revision in a few weeks - damu completed the beat, and joe is gonna knock out the cover image soon. we've been considering a shirt of some sort too (thanks to those who have been asking), and of course other stuff is in the works, but those are the priorities at the moment. til then, check back wed for a damu beat from 2004 which will be made available for free download thanks to a sponsor (hint, its not steve jobs or apple).
other than that, if you have any thoughts, comments, or general feedback, leave it here or send me an email.
finally, i wanna say peace to richdirection and k-def, whom i recently did some work with for a project at my day job. k-def is dropping "beats from the 90s vol. 2" in july, so if you want a preview, you could download the sampler here and check out the artwork here, which was designed by joe buck.
We're dropping the Y Society "Travel At Your Own Pace" instrumentals (entirely produced by Damu) on vinyl/cd in Late November via our label Redefinition Records. Tres Records is releasing the digital version.
In December we're releasing an EP of all new music by Damu on vinyl/mp3 featuring Raw Poetic on the mic via Kilawatt Records (London).
Stay tuned for more info on both projects.
