Let's Build / Update & Discussion

Hey guys, a couple quick notes and topics for you. Please read as we would love to get your take on one subject in particular (link towards the bottom of this post).

First, up Kilawatt V1 is Now Available @ kilawattmusic.com (check for both US and international shipping options on their site) ... Your support is much appreciated and allows us to continue to make and release RECORDS.

Shouts to K Murdock for mastering the record and for the upcoming Damu interview on XM/Siruis Satellite Radio. Damu will probably get into some of the details surrounding the making of Kilawatt and Travel (I will be posting the audio here when available).

Y Society's Travel At Your Own Pace - Instrumentals is now available in our Redef shop. Overseas orders should hit up the following links:

CD at Vinylism
Vinyl at Vinylism
CD at HHV
Vinyl at HHV

UPDATE: All direct orders via the Redef store have been shipped, so keep an eye out for your records in the mail. Because of the holidays, the post office is pretty busy this time of the year, so please be patient if it takes an extra day or so to arrive. I randomly slipped a bonus into a decent number of the orders I shipped, so if you see an extra CD in the envelope, you know the deal.

Finally, there is an interesting discussion taking place right now at Cratekings.com, in the comments section of this post about Damu's music.

The great thing about this is that unlike most website commenters, this is a civil discussion with very different opinions on Damu's music, etc.

I dropped a comment or two and offered my opinion, but I want to hear from you so please get in there and share your perspective, as we would love to get your thoughts on whether what Damu does is in fact "SOO basic..a teen who bought his first sampler could do that type of beat" and whether he isn't on the level of Black Milk, Timbaland, etc because he isn't following modern hip-hop trends. Check it out here.

Finally, a pic I took of Damu at the WFMU Record Fair was recently featured as part of a K-Swiss online ad campaign over at Sohh.com

You know what this means, right? Now I'm feeling ALMOST as if i'm a real photographer. Lol. Anyway, check the screenshot...

That's about it for now. I'm on the run.

More updates will be posted this week.

Have a great weekend.

Travel At Your Own Pace Instrumentals (UPDATE: NOW AVAILABLE on CD & Vinyl)

Great News: The Travel At your Own Pace instrumentals on vinyl arrived today, and just like it did when we got the test pressings, the record SOUNDS GREAT.

We've heard horror stories from guys like Thes One of PUTS about the final products not matching up to the test pressings, and other unexpected issues that can occur when pressing wax, but we're happy to say that we did not have any issues. Each side of the record clocks in around 17:40 and sounds exactly the way it should.

Hit up our store at redefinitionrecords.bigcartel.com if you're interested.

Finally, I'll be posting some new video clips soon, so check back for those in a few days.

Update: The cd & vinyl are now available in our store (as are the mp3s via Tres Records).

Orders are being processed and will ship over the next couple of days
(Aside from the everyday gig and the upcoming projects we are working on, I will be packing and shipping your orders, and i'm also getting some video footage together for you to check out, so please bare with me.) To everyone who pre-ordered, I'll get you that bonus joint sometime sunday night as promised. The response was overwhelming and we're happy to say that the records are moving quick, so thanks again.

Travel At Your Own Pace Instrumentals - Pre-Order Now + Free Download

The Redefinition Records Store is officially up and running!

We are currently taking pre-orders on the CD & VINYL versions of the Y Society "Travel At Your Own Pace" Instrumentals (produced entirely by Damu The Fudgemunk.)

As some of you may remember, the vocal version of this LP sold out VERY FAST and is almost impossible to find (hello Tres). We pressed a very limited number of units of the instros on wax, so my advice is to grab it now if you're interested, because we will not be repressing this release. Also worth noting, the CD version features EVERY beat & interlude from the original, as well as a couple of bonus tracks including a beat called "Detour" which has never been released in any format until now. The digital version will NOT feature the interludes or these bonus cuts.

We expect to begin shipping orders later this week. Aside from Fat Beats in NYC, this album will not likely be available for purchase in any physical retail location in the near future, so your best bet is to get it direct from us. This is only the first of MANY releases from Damu & Redef. (Collisions!!)

Over the next couple of weeks I will be posting some video footage relating to the making of this album at redefinitionrecords.com

Until then, you can grab the "This Is An Introduction" instrumental right now for free...

The Redef Store address is http://redefinitionrecords.bigcartel.com/

On behalf of Damu & Myself: Thanks again for your support. It means a lot to a small operation like ours and will help us carry out the plan, which is to release quality projects on a steady basis from now on.
